i dreamed that i met *floopyboo and she made a sketch of me; when i looked at the finished work, i knew it was myself, except it was annika hansen at seven or eight years of age, just before she was assimilated. the sketch was made in crayon or wax/oil pastel and was both schematic and bold, consisting mostly of contours and sweeping, flowing lines, as if made with just a few broad strokes of the hand. what struck me was how alive it was. i may well have been looking at the actual three-dimensional girl. she wore a bright scarlet top in the exact shade i have a weakness for, and find especially uplifting - probably a tankini or t-shirt - and was drawn in two postures, one sitting or standing up (i only remember seeing her face and chest) and the other reclining on her side. she had long, straight fair hair that either draped down freely or fluttered in the breeze and almost reached her waistline. she was laughing and had a lively, mischievous look about her; to me she appeared to represent the internal vitality and fresh perception that i lost after i turned sixteen or so.

i told [personal profile] dreaming_brooke about this and she pointed her similarity to adhra - the bright red clothes, the free, spontaneous postures, the happy and almost oblivious air, and suggested that, like adhra, seven is "stuck", suspended at a particular point without progressing any further (for her, it is mid-childhood, for adhra, mid-adolescence with psychological regression to a younger age). what i thought strangest is that this came when i seem to be more at ease with myself than i have been for years. also, personality-wise, i'm not that similar to seven - i'm much more like a younger tuvok or torres - but then, of course, i do identify with her as a metaphor, and perhaps this shows just how much.
